Not agreeing with your statement…it’s too simplistic. They are two different things. You plan, develop and execute. Proper planning and development enables you to go through the process on paper without any costs to your company instead of waisting time and money learning the hard way. A strategy is a ‘structured’ way forward; while just doing what you do is an unstruvctured way forward.
It’s a false dichotomy. Integrating planning and doing does not mean “just do what you do” – it means that you develop and evolve your strategy based on data generated through the process of action.
